About Larry & Michelle

Larry & Michelle Ransom

Rush Lattin Cellars was founded in 2018 by Larry and his wife, Michelle—a partnership fueled by passion, purpose, and an unshakable belief in the power of connection.

For decades, Larry has dedicated his career to coaching leaders and teams, inspiring them to uncover their inner passion and share it boldly with the world.

Winemaking, at first, was a weekend pursuit—a creative outlet that quickly became something more. What started as a side project soon evolved into a true reflection of Larry himself: a spark, a fire-starter, and an invitation to gather.

Michelle may have followed Larry into this adventure somewhat reluctantly, but in supporting her husband, she found something unexpected—a deep love for the wine, as well as for the people it brought together. With her innate gift for fostering connection and celebration, she became the heartbeat of the Rush Lattin community, welcoming all to the table with warmth, laughter, and a shared glass.

Together, Larry and Michelle have built Rush Lattin Cellars not just as a winery, but as a gathering place—where passion meets craftsmanship, where stories are shared, and where wine is more than a drink; it’s an experience. What began as a spark has grown into something lasting, and together, they continue to fuel the fire, inviting others to join them in raising a glass to life’s moments, both big and small.

Larry's Wine Making Journey

Embarking on the path to winemaking was an unexpected journey for me. It all began when a close friend shared an unlabeled bottle of wine that profoundly captivated my senses. This experience ignited a passion within me to recreate that elusive “holy grail” of wines—a pursuit I now realize is a lifelong endeavor, always striving for perfection, yet embracing the beauty of the quest itself.

Driven by this newfound passion, I embarked on my winemaking journey in 2013, crafting my first barrel of co-fermented Syrah and Mourvèdre. This endeavor marked the beginning of my quest to produce exceptional Rhône-style wines. After five years of dedication and growth, we
proudly transitioned into a commercial winery, establishing Rush Lattin Cellars in 2018. Now, with over a decade of winemaking experience, I continue to hone my craft with unwavering commitment.

As a self-taught winemaker, I recognize the value of continuous learning and the collective wisdom of the winemaking community. I’ve been fortunate to seek guidance from esteemed vintners in both Napa and Washington, whose generosity in sharing their expertise has been invaluable to my growth. This collaborative spirit reinforces my belief that, regardless of one’s accolades, there is always room to learn and evolve.

My winemaking philosophy centers on relentless improvement. With each vintage, I strive to surpass the last, understanding that perfection is an ever-moving target. This drive ensures that I remain humble, open-minded, and dedicated to refining my craft, embracing both successes and challenges as integral parts of the journey.

In essence, my path to winemaking is a testament to passion, perseverance, and the unwavering pursuit of excellence. It’s a journey marked by continuous learning, collaboration, and an enduring commitment to creating wines that resonate with depth and character.
