Who is Rush Lattin?

Our story is rooted in the bold legacy of Rush Lattin—an artist, a pioneer, and a visionary. In the late 1800s, with nothing but a mule, a five-foot canvas, and an unwavering dream, he set out alone to capture the breathtaking beauty of Yosemite Valley. The label you see today is a sketch of that heirloom painting—an enduring expression of Rush’s passion, purpose, and determination to share a moment of beauty with generations to come.
Creativity flows deeply through my family’s bloodline. My grandfather, whose favorite uncle was Rush Lattin, also carried the gift of artistic expression. With a brush in hand and a vision in mind, he had a rare ability to capture not just faces on canvas, but the essence, character, and spirit of the people he painted. His portraits weren’t just art—they were stories, meant to inspire and captivate both those they were created for and all who experienced them. He taught me to pursue my dreams with passion, to dream with eyes wide open, and to embrace the journey as much as the destination.
Inspired by this heritage, Larry and Michelle set out on a journey of their own—to capture nature’s beauty through a different medium: the exceptional grapes of Washington State. This vision gave life to Rush Lattin Cellars, where every bottle reflects not only a commitment to excellence but also a deep desire to bring people together, to celebrate life’s milestones, and to share something truly meaningful.
Wine, like art, is meant to be experienced, savored, and shared. Just as Rush’s brushstrokes preserved a landscape for generations, and my grandfather’s portraits revealed untold stories, our wines are crafted to honor tradition, embrace creativity, and invite connection—one glass at a time.
